When it comes to attracting customers, simple logos are always better than bright, complex logos. Simple logos are easier to create, tend to cost less, and are easier to look at and remember. Complicated logos, on the other hand, take a lot of time, energy, and money to create. Not to mention that it's harder on your potential customer's eyes, which is something you don't want. Many people will leave at the slightest inconvenience.
The number one reason why simple logos are always better is the fact that they are easier on the eyes. Logos that don't have too many flamboyant colors are better when it comes to making business comfortable for your customers. For example, don't you hate reading yellow text? Especially when that yellow text is printed on a white background? This applies to your logo. Too much color and complex designs cause eye strains.
Logos that aren't complex are almost always easier to remember than logos that are complex. You want your logo to be very memorable so that your company will also be memorable. If you don't think having a simple logo will improve how memorable your company is, think of it this way. Which is more easier to remember on the spot? A sentence with five short words, or a sentence with thirty long words?
Simple logos also tend to be more professional. The logo you choose for your company isn't simply for eye candy. Logos that are more complex often have a bigger chance of appearing to be trying too hard, childish, and simply unprofessional. These impressions will in turn rub off onto your company.
The less resources used, the better. Simple logos require less time and energy for professionals to make. The less time and energy that is invested into your logo, the less money you will be required to pay. Paying more money just to make your logo unmemorable and an eye-strainer is not a good business tactic.
For many reasons, simple logos are the way to go. Remember, just because a good logo should be simple, doesn't mean that it shouldn’t lack any color and creativity as well.
