Coaching for Transformation is an accredited coach training program meeting the International Coach Federation standards. Those standards include training participants in eleven core coaching competencies. In addition, the Coaching for Transformation curriculum includes multicultural awareness – addressing the assets and challenges faced by people who are not of the dominant culture. The Coaching for Transformation nonprofit coaching training will also include tools, techniques, mentoring and peer learning for working effectively in the nonprofit sector and with diverse communities.
A limited sample of some of the topics covered in training modules include:
Self-focused, Client-centered, and Transformational Listening
Asking Empowering Questions and Making Powerful Requests
Working with Limiting Beliefs and the Inner Critic
Connecting with Meaning, Passion and Purpose
Expanding Emotional Intelligence
Identifying Your Unique Strengths as a Coach and Developing Your Coach Approach
Coaching Across Differences
For the Nonprofit Curriculum, we will add content and context relevant for working in the nonprofit sector. This will include:
Specific content on what to expect in working in the nonprofit sector, and how coaching is different for-profit organizations and leaders.
Specific content about how the mind-set and skill-set of coaching is applied in the nonprofit sector and examples of the coaching trends in the nonprofit sector.
Coaching tips for working with leadership in a nonprofit, including how to structure the relationship and coaching sessions. We will also address common issues that the nonprofit leader faces and how coaching can be used in these situations.
Setting up agreements and balancing the sometimes conflicting requirements of individual clients, organizational mission and funder expectations.
Coaching tips for using the coach approach in the nonprofit organization, including how to set up a program that helps to create a coaching culture. We will also include how to have brief client interactions rather than formal coaching sessions.
With all our coaching programs, we will use opportunities for the cohort to design what they need, and to provide solid coaching training in a context that applies to the members of the cohort.
